Download ZTrack — telemetry video editor for Windows, macOS and Linux

ZTrack is a native desktop application — there is no browser version. Pick the installer for your operating system below. Every build is signed and verified at install (Authenticode on Windows, notarised on macOS, GPG on Linux AppImage) and auto-updates are signed with Ed25519 and verified offline before the new binary is swapped in.

Windows 10 and 11

• Recommended installer (NSIS .exe): ~120 MB download, ~800 MB installed. Authenticode-signed, includes the FFmpeg sidecar and registers the .ZTrack file association so double-clicking a project opens the editor.
• Microsoft Installer (.msi): ~125 MB download. Use this for silent enterprise deployment via SCCM, Intune or Group Policy. Same content as the NSIS installer.
• System requirements: Windows 10 (build 19041 or later) or Windows 11. 8 GB RAM minimum, 16 GB recommended for 4K editing. DirectX 11 GPU. 2 GB free disk for the install plus space for media cache.

macOS 11 Big Sur and newer

• Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) .dmg: universal native ARM64 build, hardware-accelerated H.264 / H.265 / ProRes via VideoToolbox.
• Intel x86_64 .dmg: separate build for older Intel-based Macs.
• Both builds are notarised and stapled — Gatekeeper opens them without a security prompt.
• System requirements: macOS 11 Big Sur or newer, 8 GB RAM, Metal-capable GPU.

Linux

• AppImage: portable, runs on Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+, Fedora 39+, Arch and most modern distributions. chmod +x ZTrack.AppImage and run.
• System requirements: glibc 2.35 or newer, libwebkit2gtk-4.1, FFmpeg 6 (bundled), 8 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.3 GPU.

What happens after install

The first launch shows a Welcome page where you can create a new project, open an existing .ZTrack file, browse recent projects or sign in. You don't need an account to use the Free plan — sign-in only matters once you upgrade to Premium / Pro / Business. Auto-update runs every 6 hours and uses an HTTP GET against /api/v1/releases/latest, downloads the bundle, verifies the Ed25519 signature offline, and swaps the binary in place. Mandatory updates trigger a full-screen download flow (used only for security fixes).

Project files and portability

ZTrack saves projects as a single .ZTrack file (JSON) referencing your media by absolute path. If you move a project to a new machine, the Source File Relocator opens automatically and lets you batch-remap missing files. For permanent archives, use File > Consolidate Project — this copies every referenced media into a folder next to the project and rewrites paths.
